About Orchard House:

Orchard House is part of Beacon Care Group Ltd. and is an independent therapeutic Children’s Home in Accrington for children between the ages of 8 and 17.  Our home provides care and guidance to young people who have social emotional and mental health needs.  Our evidence-based attachment and trauma informed model of care ensures that children are supported to address their current feelings and emotions with staff who are aware of the impact that our early life experiences can have on our current ways of adapting to and coping with the world around us.

Your role as a Senior Childcare Worker for Beacon Care is to assist and support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager where needed, ensuring the smooth running of the shift, assigning specific tasks to the childcare workers and monitoring their completion.  

You will be responsible for actively safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of the children in the home.  You will be required to promote structure, boundaries and routines and support young people with their education and day to day activities.

You will work with and lead the team to ensure that the children and young people living in the home receive the highest standards of care and support.  

You will have one year of experience in residential care and be qualified with a QCF level 3 certificate.

You will undertake sleep-in duties, work unsociable hours to meet to meet the individual or group needs of the young people.
